Traditional advertising for the Apple student discount already existed on campus, so the task was to catch the attention of students in an unexpected way and direct them to the website for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s school store.
To achieve this, I created stencils of the familiar iPod graphics and used chalk paint to apply them to surfaces in popular outdoor spaces.
The successful tactic was adopted by Apple as a national campaign. Using my original files to create larger die-cut stencils, packaged with chalk paint, kits were shipped to university campuses nation-wide.
